    As an update to my own posting about "blocks not talking to each other", I've found the problem-- ifc 7.0.

    I changed my compiler to ifc 6.0, and now it works fine. There is actually a warning in the FLASH distribution about using ifc 7.0, but I had ignored it because the examples seemed to work perfectly fine. D'oh!

    So, beware people that are using ifc 7.0... in my experience, it works sometimes and not others!
